Recession Recession ...

Everybody by now will be aware of the world recession , if some one had a tummy upset its b’coz of recession if some one fainted then its because of recession, where ever you go what ever happens its all b’coz of recession. During the APEC summit the so called developed country leaders did say that “India & China are the 2 countries that have to pull the world from recession”, Wow what a lovely sentence to hear, is in it? Not US, UK or AU its up to India & china… what else to say other than “Every dog has its day”.

Awareness:

When I was coming from work the other day from central coast I passed a note that the council have left for the drivers, it really fascinated me , It’s stuck in my mind; It was different from rest of the think ponds,it goes like this…

"Welcome careful drivers we have 2 cemeteries but no hospitals”

Brotherhood:

This happened around 4 months ago around the time I joined this job, had to go to a place called “Bathurst” which is around 157Kms from my place, a remote region for decommissioning servers; had been there a week ago for auditing. On that particular day of decommissioning around 6pm I was supposed to meet 2 of my co-workers at that customer place, I was the team lead for the day so had more responsibilities, around 6.05pm got into the facility was waiting for the drive tape people from a different organization to come and then the courier people who are supposed to take the decommissioned servers to Sydney. Except us all the other people were late, reached around 7.00pm. The servers had to be shut and routed so it took around 8.30pm to finish and then around 9.00pm w e started to remove the servers and the courier people were packing it accordingly around 10.00pm we finished our work and was on our way, one of my team member had to go to work early next morning so he left first now its just us we went to a service station and each of us bought some snacks and got into our cars and left, it was dark and at times it was so scary but the other co-worker was behind me all along until a point where we had to go 2 different ways my house was just 10Kms from that point, even though he could have gone leaving me behind he choose to stay behind and be there, to be more precise I don’t even know that person very well but the way he took care of me was so overwhelming, the very next morning when I went to work I thanked him for his brotherhood.
Is this what called as humanity/thoughtfulness/mankind…? Looking out for someone no matter whether they are strangers or friends. Indeed it was an act of benevolence.

Kindness can become its own motive. We are made kind by being kind.

Work Daemons:

Today was quite a big day at work….offfff, and will remember this day for ever. In my 1.5 yrs of career never had a day like this… Today I felt the real pressure of a support engineer’s work…
The day started as normal but bit earlier than ever had to go to a place called “Charlestown” (Customer site) which is 160km from my place have to be there by 7am so started around 4.30am from home the drive was so fabulous n-joyed the silence, the nature … After 2hrs of journey reached there around 6.30am, in the midst of nature watching forgot to refuel my car, there goes the alarm had to find a service station, toyed with my navman (GPS Navigator) for a while and got one station with was 500m from where I was standing; lucky me refueled and back in time to work. Now starts my bad timing, one can say that way; one by one every other computer stuff goes down starts from UPS then goes the Server1 then server 2 so on so forth, this is the first time ever such disaster occurred, called my superior they were puzzled, alone at customer site I was stuck and the “drivers team” who usually manage these equipments were helping me thro’ phone. Some how got one server up and running and eventually everything started to work then came the 2nd attack there goes the 3rd server and subsequent systems… finally around 12.30pm with the help of drivers team everything was up and running smooth, from morning 7.00am to noon I was running as if I had fire under my feet… luckily the site manager was very patient, friendly and helpfull. At the end of this drama I was so tired and drained just wanted to be home, then remembered that I didn’t eat or drink anything since morning and started to hunt for some veggie food…

Forget it...

Sunday, one of the boring days of the week, nothing interesting to watch in TV, so was just browsing the channels, suddenly came across one of the programs that I like to watch “20 to 1” which lists 20 good or bad movies/action movies/ singers/ actors…. And some famous faces comment on it, so this weeks episode counts down 20 modern movies that put bums on seats around the world, from big budget action films to unforgettable romances, so at number 8 it was “Men in Black” they showed a scene where a doctor finds an “Alien” and says that “this is an alien which your government tries to hide” suddenly Tommy Lee Jones one of the action heroes in the film quickly wore his dark glass like his partner Will Smith and took out an equipment which looked like a torch and flashed it towards the doctor, it was a tool to erase memory… boom, she forgot everything… so I started to think what would people do if they really get an equipment like that?? Asked my husband he simply said “I’ll do nothing” an answer which I thought that I’ll get, so next asked my friends and my team people at work and all gave me different answer then I thought now it is my turn to think what I’ll do?? Hmm… unlike others I won't waste that equipment on others instead I thought I’ll use it on myself, ha ha ha… it sounds selfish though but according to me it would be one of the wisest decision I would take in my life, but unfortunately I don’t have that luxury, hope to have it one day.
